HAWKINS LADY HAWKS defeated Beckville 59-31 in district play Friday night. Hawkins got ahead early with a 19-point second quarter, racking up a 28-11 lead by halftime.
Jaycee Cheshire led with 13 points, followed by Lynli Dacus with 12 points.
Harlie Conover put three three-pointers on the board and scored nine points total. Emily Moore scored 9 points. Moore added 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block. Also contributing for Hawkins was Alyssa Eddington (8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals), Logan Jaco (6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal), and Christian Harris (2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals).
Congratulations to Emalee Chappa and Mackenzie Rutherford on an excellent job at ATSSB Area Competition. Out of all the 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A bands who competed from Texarkana to Beaumont, Emalee placed 2nd on Tenor Saxophone and Mackenzie placed 3rd on Bass Clarinet.
Hawkins defeated Avinger 66-41 during their first game on Friday.
Jaycee Cheshire helped pace the Lady Hawks with a double-double. Cheshire had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lynli Dacus notched two three-pointers and scored 12 points total. Three other players also added ten or more points for Hawkins. Alyssa Eddington racked up 12 points and Logan Jaco contributed 10 points. The Lady Hawks had three players in double digits that helping notch a 59-37 victory over Sabine Friday evening. Lynli Dacus and Alyssa Eddington had 14 points each, followed by Jaycee Cheshire with 10 points.
Also contributing for Hawkins were Harlie Conover (9 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals), Emily Moore (8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists), and Logan Jaco (2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal). Eddington was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up four rebounds and five steals. Dacus had six rebounds and two assists.

Jaycee Cheshire scored 17 points to bring Hawkins to a 54-41 victory over Joaquin on Thursday.
Cheshire also contributed seven rebounds and two steals.

The Lady Hawks lost their season opener to Arp 41-45. Hawkins guard Alyssa Eddington recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Eddington also had five assists and three steals. Emily Moore and Harlie Conover scored 10 points each. Moore pulled down 5 rebounds and Conover pulled down six rebounds. Jaycee Cheshire had six points and six rebounds. Christian Harris added four steals and two assists for the Lady Hawks.
